N2Power Ultra Small Power Supplies
N2Power has developed one of the smallest volumetric and highly efficient open frame power supplies available requiring half the volume, yielding twice the power for its size, and providing one third more efficiency than other available products.
N2Power differentiates its power supplies from others through a patented, high efficiency topology (dramatically reducing wasted electrical power) and through its state of the art packaging techniques (providing extremely small volumetric size). A way to experience wasted electrical power is by placing a hand above electronic products and sensing the unused energy rising as heat. N2Power’s design uses more of this wasted energy and generates less wasted heat through its high efficiency, with benefits of reduced need for forced air fan cooling, and more reliable and ultimately more economical operation. An N2Power power supply can actually pay for itself within a few months of operation. Economical operation results from the “power grid” friendly nature of the N2Power technology. High efficiency uses more of the supplied electrical AC power; high power factor reduces loads on generating stations and associated local air conditioning systems. Comparisons of power loading presented to the “power grid” show that N2Power presents only about a 150 VA load to the grid (at full power) as compared to power supply competitors that burden it with a 300 VA load. That’s a 50% reduction in power and a 50% savings at the electric meter! We are concerned about the power grid… blackouts, brownouts, and energy source issues. European countries require Power Factor Correction, which lessens that load. It is anticipated that the U.S. will soon enact such requirement. Some manufacturers have implemented PFC on the “high line” (185-264VAC) portion of their products but have overlooked the vast market for efficiency in the United States where line voltages are a nominal 115VAC (“low line”). N2Power products incorporate Power Factor Correction throughout the range of available line voltages, both high line and low line and, through judicious design and packaging, provide maximum efficiencies in the balance of the product. These benefits accrue not only to the designer/manufacturer, but also to his customer. Both get the advantages of smaller physical size, less weight, reduced audible noise, better use of energy resources, and lower installed cost.
